Summary
In the study, participants are given information about the reliability of symptom checkers and of other people. We investigate how decision accuracy changes and which representations users build from the given information. We distinguish between verbatim and gist information (according to fuzzy trace theory) and investigate how different representations affect behavioral trust (following received recommendations in case of disagreement between own appraisal and symptom checker advice) and decision accuracy when solving fictitious case vignettes.
