Osteoma is a benign tumor of mesenchymal osteoplastic nature composed of well-differentiated osseous tissue with laminar structure. Osteomas are extremely rare in the temporal and mastoid bone and mostly occur in the external auditory canal. Temporal bone in general constitute 0.1 1% of all benign tumours of skull. Causes reported in literature include previous surgery, radiotherapy, chronic infection, trauma, and hormonal factors.
