This is the first prospective study to compare the effects of femtosecond laser energy on the corneal endothelium at two different dissection levels in femtosecond laser-assisted deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty for keratoconus patients. The study will comprise two groups in which femto-dissection will be done at 80 or 110 microns anterior to the Descemet's membrane at the corneal thinnest location. The effects of femtosecond laser energy on corneal endothelial cells will be compared by specular microscopy at 1,3 and 6 months postoperative.
