For example, some causes can prolong or even hinder the healing process: - the severity of the injury: a fracture accompanied by comminution, loss of bone and skin, and infection, which cause many problems both in treatment and healing; - advanced age, the presence of metabolic disorders (e.g., diabetes) or immunosuppressive drug therapy, which negatively affect the healing process; - incomplete activation of the repair processes, the cause of which cannot be determined with certainty. 5-10% of the cases of fractures, depending on the statistics, may lead to delayed or non-union, and can be effectively treated in most cases by the stimulation of the bone formation process with electric and magnetic fields; - deformative injuries; - bruises; - bone and joint inflammation and degeneration; - periarthritis of the shoulder (as well as calcification); - osteoporosis.
