About this regulation

Science and Technology (Licensing of Prescribed Activities) Regulations, 2026

Complete original GN37/2026, Gazette Supplement 11A of 1 May 2026, physical pages 2–64/printed 422–484. Retains all eight regulations, all fifteen forms A–O, every Form N licence condition (a)–(j), the fourteen-column register, the entire fee schedule and all 63 original page images. Minister Bright Msaka made the Regulations on 23 April 2026 under section 50 of the Science and Technology Act (Cap. 30:10). Forms B/C expressly cover medical-device research and require prior ethics approval for protocol/consent amendments; Form E applies to social sciences and humanities. Regulation 3(6) requires notification of a complete initial application outcome within thirty days; regulation 4 requires a renewal application at least sixty days before expiry. Regulation 5 concerns variation of licence conditions under parent section 43 and supplies no universal device-product variation deadline. Form M typically thirty working days applies only to technology-transfer-office applications. Fee columns, merged cells and full 10% budget formulae are preserved. Original duplicated 10% of 10% in Form C, numbering beginning 25 in Form I, and other publisher errors remain unchanged. Gazette sale price K14,600 is not a licence fee. The complete NCST2003 parent reproduction and dated2014 revised expression are separately retained; original Gazette/commencement,2024 predecessor, approved REC/TTO guidelines/SOPs, MTA/PMRA procedures and later amendments remain under review; this dated original is excluded from default current-law discovery.
