| Laboratory diagnostic devices (IVD) of medium and high risk (classes B, C, D) — state registration with a 5-year certificate(Registration dossier filed with the Agency through the E-business system, initial analysis and expert opinion by the working office, decision by the Medical Devices Council, certificate signed by the Agency head) Official clock: 55 working days is the sum of the published stage limits in Annex Two §§2.3 to 2.5 — initial analysis within 5 working days, expert opinion within 15 working days, tabling at the Medical Devices Council within 30 working days of the expert opinion, and issue of the certificate within 5 working days of the Council minutes. The instrument states each limit against its own triggering event and does not say the stages run back to back, so this is the sum of the limits rather than a guaranteed end-to-end period. The applicant's own clock runs alongside: after filing through the E-business system the registrant has 5 working days to pay the registration fee (§2.2), and the procedure makes the applicant responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the submission and for paying the fee in the period demanded (§§2.4 in the listing section, 3.4). The instrument sets no bound on when the Medical Devices Council itself meets; the 30 working days covers the working office's action to bring the matter before it. Registration is valid for 5 years and is renewable; the renewal request and the full dossier must be filed at least 2 months before expiry, and a device whose renewal is not filed is treated as unregistered from the expiry date (§§1.3, 2.9, 2.10). Batch-level traceability, not UDI: the device information must be entered into the electronic device database for the registration to take effect (§2.13), and Art. 11.1.7 requires the batch serial number, standard code and quantity to be entered there. Class A (low-risk) IVDs are outside this row: Art. 33.9.1 exempts laboratory diagnostic devices other than high- and medium-risk ones from registration, so the IVD registration clock covers classes B, C and D. |
