| Atomic Energy and Radiation Protection Act, 2005 (Act No. 5 of 2005) | Atomic Energy and Radiation Protection Act, 2005 Original Gazette Act establishing the Atomic Energy Board and National Radiation Protection Authority and enabling radiation-source controls, including medical and dental diagnosis, treatment and biomedical-research exposure. Sections 16–32 address possession, import/export/transport, source and facility registration, licence applications, renewal, modification of licence conditions, transfer, duties and accident notification. Section 21 provides a 30-day completeness notice and a conditional 90-day licensing decision period; these are not stated as the deadline for section 27 condition changes. Section 25 permits renewal applications within 90 days before expiry. The full Act, regulatory powers, inspection and enforcement provisions, and original Schedule amendments to the Hazardous Substances Ordinance are retained. Industrial, nuclear-material and occupational provisions keep their stated scope; this is not a general MD/IVD product-registration regime. Signed on 24 April 2005 and published on 16 May 2005. Section 44 commenced on publication under section 47(1); GN220/2011 separately appoints 16 January 2012 for the Act, read with that exception. A single effective date is omitted. Original amendment brackets, underlined insertions and numbering discrepancies remain visible in the retained page images and review evidence. Later amendments and current applicability remain unverified. | General | — | Official |
| NMRC Registration FAQs, question 9 | Registration FAQs — regulation of medical devices Original authority registration FAQs, including question 9 on medical devices. NMRC states that it currently does not regulate medical devices except API-containing devices following the medicine route and COVID antigen test kits requiring approval; device guidelines are under development. The corpus preserves the authority’s actual scope statement rather than inventing an existing general device-registration regime. FAQ wording was retrieved on 16 October 2026. | General | — | Official |
| Government Notice No. 80 of 2025 | Regulations for Decommissioning of Facilities: Atomic Energy and Radiation Protection Act, 2005 Safety requirements for decommissioning facilities, expressly including medical facilities in which radioactive materials and sources are produced, received, used or stored. The rules cover planning, safety assessment, financial provision, reporting, radioactive waste, approval of additional or altered decommissioning actions and termination of authorisation. They incorporate the Radiation Protection and Waste Disposal Regulations for relevant radiation controls. They concern facility decommissioning, rather than general medical-device or IVD marketing authorisation or design changes. The Gazette was published on 20 March 2025 and the notice is dated 21 January 2025. A separate commencement date and later amendments remain unverified. | General | — | Official |
| Government Notice No. 126 of 2020 | Non-Ionising Radiation Regulations: Atomic Energy and Radiation Protection Act, 2005 Radiation-safety rules for listed non-ionising radiation sources, expressly including MRI, diathermy and hyperthermia. They address registration of sources, facilities and locations, activity licences, public and occupational exposure limits, compliance evidence and monitoring. Four annex tables set basic restrictions and reference levels. These are specialised radiation-source controls; they do not establish a general medical-device or IVD marketing-authorisation or product-change procedure. The Gazette was published on 4 June 2020 and the notice is dated 18 May 2020. A separate commencement date and later amendments remain unverified. | General | — | Official |
| NMRC Pharmaceutical Products Quality Reporting Form | Pharmaceutical Products Quality Reporting Form Complete one-page medicine-oriented quality complaint form linked from NMRC quality-complaint procedures that expressly include medical devices and diagnostic reagents. The device-inclusive hosting procedure is separately bound as applicability evidence. Preserve the form title, formulation checkboxes, named legacy contact and medicine-quality wording; do not replace them with webpage wording. No printed issue/version date or mandatory general device-reporting legal basis is established. Two official URLs returned identical bytes. | Vigilance | — | Official |
| Government Notice No. 221 of 2011 (Government Gazette No. 4835) | Radiation Protection and Waste Disposal Regulations Original Government Gazette regulations under section 43(1) of the Atomic Energy and Radiation Protection Act 5 of 2005. They cover radiation-source registration, import notification and licence applications, including diagnostic X-ray, nuclear-medicine and therapeutic uses. Chapter 7 sets medical-exposure duties for equipment design and instructions, calibration, dosimetry, quality assurance, guidance levels, incident investigation and records. Related source safety, transport and radioactive-waste requirements are retained in their complete context; mining, industrial, worker and consumer-product provisions keep their stated scope. Regulation 4 concerns type approval of consumer products and is not described as universal medical-device approval. The complete 54-page Gazette, including companion GN220 commencing the parent Act on 16 January 2012, is preserved. This Act commencement is distinct from publication on 18 November 2011; no separate effective date for GN221 is inferred. Clear source anomalies, including the inverted ¡ and ¿ characters in Schedule 3 Table 1, are preserved without interpreting them as comparison operators. Later amendments, current applicability and the intended comparison meanings remain unverified. | General | — | Official |
| NMRC National Guidelines for Medicine Safety Surveillance, October 2011 | National Guidelines for Medicine Safety Surveillance — medical-device scope and reporting tools Selected pages from the82-page October2011 original: cover; section6 medical-device-inclusive scope; section11 Safety Yellow Form and patient Safety Yellow Card applicability to medical devices; glossary PhV definition including devices. Medicine-only dossier/HCR deadlines are not generalized to devices. Only these four pages are included/read for this expression; annex2/6 forms and later replacement/currentness are not verified. Official2026 refetch returned identical original bytes and supplies a separate complete real download receipt, without retrospectively changing the old incomplete receipt. | Vigilance | — | Official |
What these codes are
Each row above represents one regulatory instrument. Its code is the authority’s identifier. A regulation page collects the metadata and official source; when readable HTML is available, article links can open and highlight the exact cited passage.
Continue from regulations into practical research
Keep Namibia as the target market while you move into registration records, classification, cross-country product research, or pathway planning.
Compare products across markets
Search the same product in multiple country registries.
