Regulations for Decommissioning of Facilities: Atomic Energy and Radiation Protection Act, 2005
Safety requirements for decommissioning facilities, expressly including medical facilities in which radioactive materials and sources are produced, received, used or stored. The rules cover planning, safety assessment, financial provision, reporting, radioactive waste, approval of additional or altered decommissioning actions and termination of authorisation. They incorporate the Radiation Protection and Waste Disposal Regulations for relevant radiation controls. They concern facility decommissioning, rather than general medical-device or IVD marketing authorisation or design changes. The Gazette was published on 20 March 2025 and the notice is dated 21 January 2025. A separate commencement date and later amendments remain unverified.
