Non-Ionising Radiation Regulations: Atomic Energy and Radiation Protection Act, 2005
Radiation-safety rules for listed non-ionising radiation sources, expressly including MRI, diathermy and hyperthermia. They address registration of sources, facilities and locations, activity licences, public and occupational exposure limits, compliance evidence and monitoring. Four annex tables set basic restrictions and reference levels. These are specialised radiation-source controls; they do not establish a general medical-device or IVD marketing-authorisation or product-change procedure. The Gazette was published on 4 June 2020 and the notice is dated 18 May 2020. A separate commencement date and later amendments remain unverified.
