About the data
Where these records come from
The default search uses PMDA’s complete published certification workbook, checked daily. Its scope is certification associations, including historical holder and succession entries. It is not a complete list of Japanese device approvals. Blank arrangement or cancellation dates do not prove that a certificate remains active.
The separate legacy instructions-for-use search retains the older static PMDA leaflet collection. These two collections have different coverage and are not merged or presented as interchangeable records.

- Why can one certification number appear more than once?
- The official workbook can contain multiple product, holder and succession associations for the same certificate. These published rows are preserved separately.
- Does a daily check mean the official workbook was published today?
- No. The source publication date remains the date stated in the official workbook. Daily checks detect a newly published file when PMDA releases one.
